This artifact was dug up near what was believed to be where the Kaltan tribe resided some two thousand years ago. Being one of the six tribes at the foot of Mount Arratan, then an active volcano, they all prayed to the volcano god. The one they called Haargash.
His name is etched meticulously on the handle which is adorned with human faces in various states. Most of them look like they are in extreme discomfort! According to my grandfather’s research, this dagger was used during child deliveries for when the mother was unable to give birth with her own strength. Rather barbaric if you ask me.
The Kaltan would produce these daggers using the molten rock that spewed forth from the volcano using techniques that are a mystery to us even as I write this.
